About

Welcome to RedDogWoodcraft.com

First off, a sincere Thank You for finding me here.

I wish I had some great story to share about how I got started wood working, creating, or just “making” in general. I have always been in to tinkering/breaking things which of course forces me to fix em. Since a very young age I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands. I spent my high school and college summers working construction, building houses around my hometown of Spencer, IA. My small town, is fairly unremarkable if not for the chain of lakes (namely Okoboji) just minutes from my driveway growing up. It provided an incredible playground as a youngster, from fishing, boating, camping, swimming, you name it we did it.

Fast forward to today. I live happily with my wife of 11 years, 2 children, and our GoldenDoodle George. He might have had something to do with the name of this website.

For the last 10 years I’ve been passionate about “making”. I’ve owned over a dozen 3d printers (still have four today, mostly collecting dust), a laser cutter, a few CNC’s, and most recently an entire garage full of wood working tools.

It’s really been since the start of COVID that my hobbies have turned in to my passion. My day job in sales has afforded me the ability to go from 0-60, and rapidly progress from a DIY maker in to a semi-professional wood worker.

I strive each day to improve my skills, learn new methods, and churn out higher-quality finished products. If you should feel so inclined as to purchase something I’ve made, it is my commitment to stand behind that item. A man is only as good as his reputation. It is my goal to ensure mine remains untarnished.

Thank you again for finding me here, and reading a little about my journey.
